CGA’s 8th annual golf tournament was held on Saturday July 19th. It was a beautiful day, when we teed off there was not a cloud in the sky. The golf tournament is an event that CGA puts on every year that gets a lot of outside exposure. The tournament is filled up with mostly teams that are not members of CGA, therefore we are able to reach out to another crowd of people and spread the word about these wonderful hounds. We had some fosters that showed up and it is always great to see how excited people get when they meet a greyhound for the first time. The greyhounds that showed up were "greyt" ambassadors.
Thanks again for making this the most successful golf fundraiser to date!!! This was a huge success and we raised $6,318.96 in profit for these wonderful hounds and had a good time doing it. In the 8 years that we have held the golf tournament, a total of $21,581.96 has been raised for CGA.
I would like to thank everyone that helped set up, or volunteer, or sponsor, or play, or came out for the lunch to support us. YOU are the ones that make these events happen. THANKS!!!!
I especially want to thank the following:
Rollie and Denise for promoting the event and getting some extra foursomes together, as well as, getting all of the "goodie bags" together and helping out with the registration.
Roxanne for getting the set of clubs donated that we auctioned off for $275 at the end of the event and for helping with registration and with the door prizes too.
Kathie for putting on the Meet and Greet while the tournament was playing, and for contacting the media to get the extra push right before the registration deadline.
Jody for bringing the CGA store to the event.
Paul and Terri for volunteering their time to help out with the win your height in beer and for camping out on hole #2 all day to watch for a hole in one, and for the door prizes too.
Barb for getting most of the wonderful prizes donated.
Kay for bringing the tents and helping out with the registration also.
Nick the Hammer for raising money with his long drive skills.
The Homestead at Fox Hollow for allowing us to bring the hounds to the course. We are welcome to bring them to the patio at the Homestead Grill any time. They love the hounds. Please support them during the rest of the year, whether it's to play a round or enjoy lunch or dinner.
Last, but not least, I'd like to thank everyone who brought their foster hounds and ambassadogs to the meet & greet, came out to enjoy the lunch, played in the tournament, and contributed to a hole sponsor.
I hope I have not forgotten anyone, if so, I apologize in advance. This event could not have happened without a bunch of teamwork and effort on the part of the many people listed here. A special thank you goes out to our hole sponsors:
